A 3 days short Tiger safari in Kanha National Park in the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book.
Met upon arrival at nearest railway station or airport and transfer to Kanha National park and check in at the lodge.
Kanha National Park vividly portrayed in Kipling’s Jungle book, Its Sal forests, grasslands and the streams are the haunt of the majestic tiger. Fauna includes leopard, gaur, barking deer, black buck, the rare hardground barasingh and over two hundred avian species.
Kanha National Park abounds in meadows or maidans which are basically open grasslands that have sprung up in fields of abandoned villages, evacuated to make way for the animals. Kanha meadow is one such example. There are many species of grass recorded at Kanha some of which are important for the survival of Barasingha (Cervus duvauceli branderi). Dense forested zones with good crown cover has abundant species of climbers, shrubs and herbs flourishing in the understory. Aquatic plants in numerous "tal" (lakes) are life line for migratory and wetland species of birds.
The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog.

The climate in Kanha National Park is extreme, with summer (April-June) temperatures rising to 43oC.
The monsoons are from mid-June to September when an average of 1,800 mm of rain falls.
Winters (November-February) can be quite cold, when frost often covers the meadows. The climate of this wonderful reserve area can be broadly divided into three main seasons, i.e., chilly winters, sweltering summer and over pouring rainy season. The summer season continues from end March to the end of June when temperature can go up to 44o c during May-June. By mid June, rainy season starts with light drizzle.
Woollen Layer Clothing is advisable during Winters mid NOV till mid FEBWinter season starts approaching from mid November and lasts till the end of February. During this period the visitors has to wear heavy layers of winter clothes as the mercury might go down to 2 degree . The open marshy hollows get covered with frost and the greenery looks impressive.
